sad, yet funny story.

Ethan and Ella will always 'help' close the garage door. Basically, Ethan pushes the button then runs over and 'helps' it close. Since Ella is Ethan's little shadow, she's been doing it too. So if you can imagine, both of my little kids, standing in front of the garage door 'helping' it close.
Well, the opposite happened today. Ethan and Ella were now 'helping' the door open. They find a ridge and push it up. Well, Ella....
Side note: Ella is my little dare devil. She will grab onto anything with both hands and see if it will hold her weight then pull her legs up and swing until her hands get tired. Then she'll let go and do it again. She'll do it with anything...playground equipment, the kitchen table, chairs and of course mommy and daddy. She did it with the drinking fountain at the church on Sunday and because it was wet, her hands slipped off and she fell flat on her back. ...ok back to the story
... so Ella decided to actually hold onto one of the ridges of the door as it went up. I was inside getting my coat on and almost ready to come out the door when I hear a blood curdling scream of pain from Ella and I sprint out the door. She was laying on her stomach screaming! I went and picked her up just as a neighbor came running over who saw the whole thing, but couldn't get over fast enough. Ella hung onto the door the entire way to the top! Then, let go and bellyflopped! Her lungs are fine, she made sure we heard that they were, and I poked and prodded her ribs and checked to make sure she was fine and sure enough, she was off my lap within 10 min. and playing.
I know I'm very blessed she didn't have any worse injuries, becuase it could have been really really REALLY bad...but I can't help but giggle a little when I think of my little baby dangling from the garage door as it opens and how funny it would have looked.
