Independance Day 2011!

We had a very fun 4th of July this year! I miss last year's schedule where it was spread out over three days, thanks to the weekend, but we still had a lot of fun this year packing it all in one day!
We started out at a big BBQ at my sister-in-law's mom's house. We ate, then swam, then ate and then swam some more. It was so much fun!

Ariana loves to grab anything now! She loves faces and was fascinated by Dallas' face!

Ethan loved this slide! He went down more times than I can count!

Look at Ethan coming off the slide. He covers his eyes with one hand and his mouth and nose with the other hand. So cute!

Ella snagged this life-jacket from one of my nieces who wasn't interested in it anymore. She loved it! She's such a little fish!

Grandma is holding Holden (who, a few minutes after this picture was taken had the biggest blowout of the century!) and Jan holding Derek!

While we were swimming, my brother and sister-in-law announced they were pregnant with their 3rd! Congrats Jared and Kathy!! We're very excited for you!

After swimming, we all got dressed and headed over to the park for, as Ethan calls them, "the Park Fireworks"!

Ella at the park! Cheeeeeese!

Ariana checking out her stroller toy...

Ethan was soooooo excited for fireworks this year. It's like Christmas for him...no, it's better than Christmas for him!

Just waiting for the fire works to start....

Charity and Holden...

Kathy and Steve, Charity's parents...

Cheese!

Cute Jaci!

Love Derek's grin! He's such a ham!

Now, these next few are my brother Dan getting creative with the camera, and my nephews spinning/waving their glow sticks...

And the fireworks! very cool show this year...

Yup, both of my kids like the lights, but not the BOOMS!

After the "Park Fireworks" we all went to my mom's house to do the little fireworks...

Ethan and Emma...

Dan of course crashes wherever he can...

Mom and Dad and Mya...

The sisters-in-law got forks and ate cake....oh it was good!

We had a lot of fireworks left over, so a few days later, we did a small neighborhood show. These are the kids that came...

we had a very fun Independence day! We remember those who sacrificed for our freedom, both at the beginning of our country, during and in the future.

Bunkbeds!

We've had the bunk bed set up for a while but only had Ethan sleeping on the bottom and Ella still in her Crib. Then we got a mattress for the top bunk. Now it's official, Ella is in a 'Big Girl Bed'!!

My awesome neighbor Ami organized a summer playgroup. Every week we do an activity and this particular week, we went and got a tour of Grandma Tobler's Bakery! The smell was AMAZING! and the kids were fascinated by everything they saw. They especially loved the cookies at the end!

Drooling on the glass...

All of them picked something they wanted...I just wanted to take the whole display case with me...

Yummy....BIG Sugar cookies!

The littlest tour-er

Showing the BIG oven!

Here's how to turn it on!

Such good kids!

The BIG bread mixer. Ella was cranking it up the start position...

And enjoying the cookies at the end! Yummo!!

camping 2011

My sister-in-law Charity had a brilliant idea the beginning of June...let's go camping! We set a couple of days aside, told the family, and whoever could be there was there. We were SOOOOO there! I was so excited to go camping, the end of June couldn't come fast enough! We had a lot of fun doing all the camping stuff...

Morning Breakfast fire...Ethan lived for building fires!

My little camper! What a trooper! She slept soooooo well!

Ethan has been begging to go camping for a while...as soon as we got home he asked when we would be going camping...

Jan's kids left some of these swords up there. The next morning, the little kids found them. This sword was bigger than Mya!...

Stab in the Back! Gotcha Uncle Jason!

Of course we played tons of games...

Ariana is on Grandma's team!

Emma...Arrrrrgh!

My cute little campers...

I love these kids...I love Ella's pose!

The second morning, the daddies and uncles took all the grand kids, and grandma on a hike! (and Smalls of course)

Ella...I don't really 'get' the rope...but I think I have an Indian Jones-ette on my hands...

Love these kids!

Chillin' with Ariana!

Look at Ella...Yeah, it was that cold. She got in, started screaming, Grandpa came to the rescue and she wrapped her legs around him so tight he had a hard time getting her off when they got to the shore!

That's as much as Ethan got in too! It was cold!

Brrrrrrrrr!

And then of course, there's my crazy brothers, and dad...
See my facebook post to watch a video of them going completely under...

Derek didn't last very long with just his hands in...and neither did Grandpa...his back gave out first though...

Contemplating the freezing-ness of the water...

Ariana was out halfway down the hill...

yeah for Daddy!

The Three Musketeers or the Three Stooges...you decide

OWE OWE!!! Check out those legs!

attempting jump rope...

OWE OWE!! Now he's just freeeeeeeee!

Gotta love this thumb, and the snugly Great Grandma!

And she's OUT!

Mya enjoying the fire!

Ella was out cold by 7:30 on the second night. But when I went in to check on her, she a rolled off the air mattress and onto the floor. I actually put her back into bed two more times before I just decided to leave her there. She slept that way the rest of the night.

and then, as we were packing up, a trailer pulled up and a lady got out with her bird...very strange sight to see in a conifer forest...

We had a blast camping and I can't wait to do it again! It was so much fun and the kids did great!
