Easter 2008

Happy Easter everyone! We sure had a fun day. It was by no means a quiet Easter, but it was sure fun! We started out our Easter day with by going to church (of course) and having a wonderful Fast and Testimony Meeting (yes, we had fast Sunday) Then, we went home and had a turkey dinner for lunch (After naps. We have 9 am church). No it didn't have all the trimmings, but it was sure a good turkey. The rest of they day will be described by pictures and captions. Having fun scrolling, there are A LOT of pictures.

Ethan and Ella before church in their cute Easter outfits. Ella got a new dress, but I had a very hard time finding anything cute for Ethan, so we mixed and matched with things he already had and just bought him new church shoes, which, incidentally, you can't see, but they're sure snazzy.

After dinner, we went to Grandma Gough's house and had a family home evening lesson, and then of course, an Easter egg hunt. This is Ethan with his find.

Here is Ella at her first attempt at an Easter Egg hunt. As you can see, she got the idea. Daddy was her mobility

Here's one of her finds. She loved grabbing them, and sucking on them, and better yet, they rattle!

All the grandkids. This was the best shot we got. Most of the kids wouldn't sit still long enough. Yes, if you look closely, Elora has a pumpkin as her Easter Basket.

And then the big boys had their Easter Egg hunt. We started this tradition last year. I think it's a fun, one and one we will continue. The "sister-en" hide the eggs for the boys. We actually do a really good job.

Ahhh....Daddy on the hunt

Grandma is holding Ella and Jaci. Ella and Jaci are six weeks apart.
Ella sure had fun with Daddy's find. She loved smashing the eggs together. I'm sure glad we hardboil Easter Eggs. This would have been very messy otherwise.

The boys enjoying their finds.

Ella discovered that the eggs can be peeled. She meticulously peeled, and then ate the shells. I hope I got most of them out if not, I'm sure I'll get them soon enough.

Then, Jason ran in the house and brought out swords. (Plastic pipe, wrapped with Styrofoam and duct tape) and all the brothers had a gigantic sword fight. Dan got a black eye. Here are Dustin and Daniel dueling. After the boys had done it for a while, the girls did it. We mostly ended up rolling on the grass laughing so hard.

Like I said, we had a fun Easter!

My Baby is Three!!

I still, even today, flash back at times to the day Ethan was born, and subsequent days like his first crawl, and first steps, but I never thought having a three year old would get here so quickly. I think he'll always be my baby, but he sure is growing up fast. Three years old!
We had a fun day for his birthday. I wanted to make it special.
We went and got a hamburger for lunch at McDonald's. He ate it at home because we also had to drop off lunch to Charles, but I don't think he minded. He knew that after his nap we would go to the park. He was so excited! His favorite things to do are go to grandma's house and play with his cousins, so that's just what we did. Everyone was there (well, except Elora and Max) and he had a ball! I put three candles on a cupcake and had him blow it out. He was so excited to see fire! My little pyro. Then everyone had a cupcake. He loved having everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to him, and he even joined in.
After the park, we went and got pizza just as a family, then went home and blew out more candles. We did it twice, becuase he loves the candles!
When he went to bed that night he asked "Mommy, birthday tomorrow?" I said "No your birthday was today" He said "Fire hot!" So cute!!
After he went to bed, he sang happy birthday to himself, twice. I listened on the monitor and just giggled. He has such a sweet voice.
I love you Ethan! Happy Birthday!

Ok, here are the pictures Ethan promised in the last post.

Ethan loves to swing. He could do it all day. I certainly don't have the stomach for it, for that long anyway. Here is Ethan with Charles pushing him.

CHEESE!! This is right after everyone sang "Happy Birthday". He was so excited to blow out the candles!

Here are Brandon (middle) and Trevor (Left) with Ethan enjoying their cupcakes

This really doesn't have anything to do with his birthday, I just thought it was so funny because Smalls is bigger than Ethan and could easily drag him a long if he decided to run.

Blowing out his candles. Notice the cake. I thought I would do a cupcake cake because cupcakes are easier to share since Ethan won't eat a whole cake and Charles can't and I shouldn't, I thought smaller would be better. It worked out well. There was only one left a couple days later, and no, I didn't eat them!

Enjoying his cake!

Ok, I love this video. I love Ethan's face during this whole thing. Now, as for the ribbon in my hair, I didn't have that in all day. Ethan likes to get in my 'hair things' drawer and get things out. I put it in my hair to get it away from him after we got home from eating pizza. I didn't realize it looked so cheesy.

My Turn!!

Ok, today is my birthday and mommy decided to let me write this time. My name is Ethan and I was born April 9th, that's today!! We had a fun day today. We went McDonald's and mommy got me a hamburger and fries and chocolate milk! Then we went to the park and all of my cousins were there to play with. Then we had cupcakes. They were yuuummmy. Mommy is sure a good cook. Then we got pizza for dinner. I think I'll probably go to sleep really fast tonight.
Now, I'm going to tell you a little about myself. I have a mommy, who stays home and plays with me, a Daddy who does a lot of homework, goes to school and work and if I can never find him, he's always in the computer room. So I guess I can always find him! I have a little sister that I love to torture...I mean play with. I love to make her cry...I mean giggle. I really am a good brother becuase I make sure she doesn't touch anything she shouldn't by pushing her...I mean helping her down. But I really do love her. I think she'll be fun to tackle...I mean chase...I mean play with when she starts walking soon.
My favorite things are my blanket and my thumb. and mommy is trying to make me go potty in the toilet all the time, but I don't want to!! it's so much easier in my diaper.
I have some favorite movies too. They are Woody (Toy Story 2) Doggies (The Incredible Journey), Circle Movie (Meet the Robinsons) and Elephant (Baby Einstine's Noah)
My favorite places to go are to grandma's house and the park.
Well, mommy says its time to take a bath and go nigh-night. Mommy will put pictures on tomorrow so you can see what fun we had for my special day! I'm THREEEEE!!!!!

Beware...lots of posts to follow.

I decided to get caught on what's been going on in our family. Currently, Charles has three weeks left before graduation (WAHOOOOO!!!) For anyone that is interested, commencement is 6:00 May 1. I don't think I mentioned I was excited so, I will do so now (WAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOO!)
We started out the month of April with Ella getting the croup. Poor girl has been miserable, but is getting better. She's on quite a few meds.
And wasn't conference awesome!! I love conference. If I had to pick a favorite talk for this conference, it would be Jeffery R. Holland's talk on the Savior. What a strong, firm testimony. I loved every minute of it!
Enjoy the following posts!

Strange place to Sleep

We went to the store on Wednesday with my mom. I guess I didn't realize how tired Ella was, but the next thing I see is Ella flopped over and sound asleep. My mom had the ideas for the paper towels. I sure got a lot of smiles and "Ohhh's" from fellow shoppers. She slept like that for most of the trip, until I got in the checkout line.

Cousins and Food

Ethan, Ella and I all went to see my nephew Nick play soccer. In the process, Ella got to "play" with her cousin Jaci. I'm not sure how much Jaci is enjoying Ella's acrobatic head stand, but it was sure a cute moment to capture. This isn't the first time Ella has done a head stand. She does it all the time. I think it's so funny though

And lately Ella has been taking baby steps toward solid food. She completely refused baby food. She wouldn't even eat pears! So we've gone straight to "people food" She seems to like it a lot better. She's experimenting with bread here. She actually ate a lot that day.

These pictures of all my brothers (and husband) were taken the day of Dallas' homecoming talk. It's the first time they've all been together since Dallas left two years ago. It was really fun to see them all together.
From top left :Charles, Travis, Jason, Chad, Dallas
Middle from left: Dustin, Dad, Jared
Bottom : Dan.

And of course, and formal picture would not be complete without somebody (or in this case, all of them) doing something silly.

Good looking bunch of guys, but I'm Biased.

Added random picture, same day...
This is my niece Emma enjoying the rest of her Ice cream cone. Yummy stuff!

TEETH! Finally!

5:29 PM Edit This 2 Comments »
Ella is 10 months old, and up until Sunday didn't have any teeth. Every time I thought she was teething because she was cranky, low grade fever ect. it ended up being an ear infection. No joke, every time! (She had three this winter) So, Saturday night, when she woke up three times, I thought we had another ear infection on our hands. Sunday morning, I stuck my finger in her mouth just to make sure, and I hit something hard! She got a tooth! Top left! I was so excited and couldn't wait to show the world. (I also thought it was strange that she got her top tooth first)
Monday, I was talking to my mom, and I happened to glance at Ella's bottom gums while she was giggling at something and ... not one, but two bottom teeth, coming in at the same time!
To top it all off, Tuesday, I looked at her top tooth again, and low and behold, her right top tooth is now coming in!
I have wierd kids.
