July 4th Weekend

I put the post as 'the weekend' because that's what seemed to happen this past 4th of July. Instead of doing everything in one day, it seemed to last 3 days (which, it actually did)
The pictures will tell all, so enjoy!

We started our celebration on July 3rd. We went swimming at the Livingston's house (Dallas' wife's parent's house) and had a big 'ol BBQ. It was delicious and nobody threw up in the pool this year! I bought this little star so Ella could have a tube to float on. Well, it was confiscated by Dustin who put it around his neck and started singing "I am like a star shining brightly". That song was stuck in my head the rest of the day.

Ella and Uncle Jason. Ella actually went down the slide a couple of times.

I love this look on Ethan's face as he's looking at Dustin singing. So classic.

Now we are at the park waiting for the fireworks to start. It's tradition to go the Vernon Worthen Park and sit on blankets and watch the fireworks. It get's more crowded every year, but this year, thanks to a ban on smoking at the park, it was a lot easier to breath!

Ethan waiting patiently for the fireworks to start. I brought sparklers for the kids to play with while we were waiting but... (yay me!) I forgot anything to start them with.

Charles has a new mustache!

Ella's eating some treats!

Wrestling with Uncle Chad...

and then Ella get's her own turn.

I didn't get any good pictures of the kids during the fireworks, and here's why. (review of kids last year...) Ethan was scared stiff last year. He kept saying he had to go to the bathroom so he wouldn't be outside to see the fireworks. Last year, Ella loved the fireworks. Couldn't get enough of them. Well, this year, total opposite. Ethan sat on Charles' lap the whole time and LOOOOOOVED them! Ella, tried to run in the opposite direction. I was using all my strength to keep her on my lap as she kept trying to slide to the ground and take off. She finally settled herself with her head on my right shoulder and her face buried in the chair back, with one hand clutching the chair and the other my shirt. She stayed that way the whole 20 min. show! Poor girl!

The next day (Sunday) we had our usual massive FHE with the entire family (we do it the 1st Sunday of the month) and my aunt and uncle and cousins were down visiting too, so it was even more huge! We stayed and BBQ'd hamburgers, then stayed even longer to light off the personal fireworks.

Ella, once again, clung to me, but by the end of the little fireworks, she seemed to be ok. She kept alternating laps though, from mine, to Aunt Kylie's, to my cousing Michelle, then to my Aunt Melanie.

Here is Ethan playing with a sparkler. This is a HUGE step from last year. He refused to even touch them.

Ella has finally relaxed enough and she is sitting on my Aunt Melanie's lap and playing with my cousin Felicia's hair. It was so cute. She would wrap her hands around in it (being gentle) then look down at Felicia and say something, then go back to playing. Stylist when she grows up...maybe?

The next day, (Monday) we lit off a few more fireworks at our house, then told Ethan he had to wait until the 24th to see more. He's been asking EVERY SINGLE DAY since then! "When can we do the fireworks again mom..."

Emma's Birthday Party

My niece Emma turned 3 a couple of weeks ago and we had a big party for her at the river walk. It was VERY hot but very fun to be with family. And because water was involved, everyone still stayed fairly cool. Enjoy the pictures from her fun party!

Ella is actually doing better for the camera. When I point it at her, instead of turning away, or screaming at me, she'll actually stand there and say Cheese!

Singing 'Happy Birthday' to Emma. Tinkerbell came! Emma is a HUGE fan, so when she came walking up to them, Emma literally took off running straight to her and gave her a huge hug. It was sooooo cute. (Tinkerbell is one of Dustin's students. That's what she dressed up as for the Snow Canyon Halloween Carnival last year, and Charity got the idea to have her come to Emma's party)

Tinkerbell did some face painting. Here she is trying to paint a flower on Ella. Ella kept turning her head to try and see what she was doing.

Here's the finished product! She's really good at it too. You should have seen the soccer ball, and dinosaur she did on a couple of the other kids. Very cool.

And after cake, this is where we would find Ethan. He knows how to keep cool. Didn't want to have anything to do with the face painting.

Charles even got his face painted. Yeah Daddy!!

Very proud of his 'scar'.

This was a family sitting behind us. The little toy was vacant, so Ella just walked over and made herself right at home. They didn't seem to mind, but we got her off after a little while.

Emma opening her 'loot'.

Mya, (Emma's little sis.) getting her face painted.

you can't tell really what it is in the picture, but it's a candle.

Emma taking full advantage of one of her presents...

and once again, just what my brothers love to do at the river walk, flood it as much as possible.

They got down to the very bottom by the drain and actually flooded it enough that the water went everywhere. Lots of fun though!

I actually don't know if that's it's real name, that's just what we call it, but the kids love to play there! We went there with my whole family a couple weeks ago. Enjoy the pictures!

Ethan Loves it!

This is what my brothers do when they get there, create a reservoir. The kids love it though, as you can see

Ethan and Ella, enjoying their respective pleasures there. Ella will climb up and down on the rocks, and Ethan just sits and plays in the waterfalls.

Random Pictures

We got our new camera when we got back from Park City. We had a warranty on it, so it didn't cost us a thing, and we got the upgraded version too. Love it!
So, here are some random pictures of life that we've been taking.

I'm about 11 weeks here, and I'm 'poofing' my stomach out a bit. You can't tell I'm pregnant in real life. I just wanted to start taking pictures each month. So...anyway, here's the first prego picture.

Here are some fun random shots as we were getting used to the new camera. Ella has such funny sleeping positions.

The little monkey...this is where I seem to find her most days, on the table. She loves to climb!

Cheese! This is random, she rarely smiles when I point a camera at her.

Think he's have a bad day? Yup, he is. But he's still really cute!

Park City

The second full week of June (mon-fri.) found us in Park City with Charles' family. Can I say how wonderful it was! It was so wonderful! The weather was beautiful (like the high was 76-ish) the views were wonderful and we had an entire kitchen and room all to ourselves! Charles' parents have a time-share and every couple of years they save up enough points to be able to get everyone up to a certain location for a family reunion. (The first time it was Yellowstone) Can I just say I love it!
It was extremely relaxing and exactly what we needed.
Basically we did what we wanted...swam, watched movies, played games, played in the arcade...anything we wanted! It was wonderful. There was no schedule, we didn't have to do anything if we didn't want to, but we did, so we did lots of stuff anyway. The girls even got a couple of hours in of shopping too. They have awesome outlet malls up there.
So, while my camera was still broken at this point, Mindi, Charles' sister took some pictures for me and sent them down. So, enjoy! (and thanks Mindi!)

Charles LOVES to play pool. I don't mind either, but here is Charles teaching Ella how to play. I love her face after she made this shot.

We had a lot of fun playing...I think I even won!

Outside the hotel, there was this little carnival set up, it included some big kid rides too, but because most of us had the little ones, we stuck to the little rides, but there weren't any adult rides anyway, except for the alpine slide.

Ethan and Ella LOVED this ride. Once Ethan got the hang of the stick to keep it in the air, they both had so much fun. Ella screamed when we took her off. They rode this one twice, there was also a merry-go-round, and a little train. Yeah, she screamed when we took her off all of them.

This is when they were done and Ella didn't know she was about to get out...

And here are my kids on the Merry-go-round...they loved it of course.

Alex and Tyson, two nephews...I love their cheeses!

And Charles and Austin! Austin loooooved it!

This is Marissa, Charles' niece, I don't know what she thought...

And this is the little train. All the kids loved this one!

We had a lot of fun of fun up there. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Frost for letting us have so much fun. Ethan keeps asking when we are going to Park City...
