Visits From Family!

The beginning of February my niece was blessed and I was blessed to have almost my entire family come up for it.  We had lunch at my house after the blessing and I got to show it off a little.  Honestly, I really love playing hostess!

My mom and dad stayed at our house and Ella really wanted to "do" grandma's hair...
And this is the result...she's quite the stylist!

Sunday was my dad's birthday.  My kids got him some oreos...

And my brothers and I all pitched in to get him a new set of golf clubs!
He was complaining that he kept losing at golf, and having such bad games...so we remedied that situation!

And just a side note...he beat his brother the last time he played golf with him!

I also asked him what kind of cake he wanted.  He said no chocolate...and butterscotch frosting.  So, this is my first attempt at butterscotch frosting and I think it turned out pretty yummy!

 Blowing out his candles!

Then...all my St. George family wanted to get out and play in our snow remainders and had a blast!

I really wish we all lived closer!  I miss seeing my family on a regular basis!  It just makes it all the more sweeter when we are able to get together!

Ariana is 3!

I can't believe Ariana is 3.  It still amazes me how fast time goes.  Thanks to Ethan and Ella starting to ask me about their birthdays in mid-December, Ariana has been asking when her birthday is too.  She was so excited when I informed her it was TODAY!!  (and everyday after she says it's her birthday)  She is a sweet girl who loves ANYTHING girl!  Princesses, dress-ups, playing kitchen, playing mommies...you name it, and she loves it!  She loves playing with her sisters.  She looks up to Ella, and teaches Elizabeth.  She is also potty trained...Since November!  It's been great.  (not the potty training part, but having her potty trained has been great.  Just FYI, this is the 2nd child I've potty trained during morning sickness...not fun!)

We didn't do anything big on her birthday.  We had a special dinner of homemade pizza and then cake and ice cream, but I don't think she cared...she was just excited that it was her special day!

It's not decorated pretty or anything because she's a chocolate lover...she LOVES chocolate!

 Here comes her cake!

 Singing happy Birthday!

Blow out the candles!

We love you so much Ariana!  You are such a special part of our family!

Just an experiment...

so, Just for me, and really not for anything else, I wonder how many people actually read my blog.  Not that it matters, I'm just curious.  I do this blog for my family history, so I can keep track of events, so even if no one reads it, I'm going to keep going...I'm just curious.

Now I also understand that I'm not a consistent blogger, so it won't surprise me in the slightest if no one sees this, but like I said, it's an experiment.

So, in order to keep this interesting I'm making our big announcement on my blog first, to see how many comments I get.  So...here ya go...Baby #5 is on its way!

We are due July 9th.  We, and especially the kids are super excited.  I'm excited, but also really nervous considering my last experience with my last newborn...but still excited.

So here we go!

To announce it to both our parents, I made up this little poem, and made a book with each of the kids drawing a picture:

Four Little Monkeys

Four Little Monkeys
As playful as can be
Love jumping
Playing and teasing,
As anyone can see.
So listen to this story
About each and every one,
And how they are so different
Yet loved more than a ton.

The First Little Monkey
Is the oldest of the bunch.
He is very clever
And loves to make things crunch.
Volcanoes are his hobby
And asks questions every day,
But anything makes him happy,
As long as he has a say.

The Second Little Monkey
Is the “monkiest” of all.
She climbs to the top of anything
And very rarely falls.
She loves to be a princess
And her imagination soars
From tea-parties to dinosaurs
Her mind is never bored.

The Third Little Monkey
Is making her place known
She loves to play and laugh and sing
But her lion is her own
From dressing-up
To Coloring all over on the walls
This little monkey is watching
And is learning to do it all.

 The Fourth Little Monkey
Is the smallest of the bunch,
But she loves to climb on top of tables,
More than just a touch.
She watches very closely
and is learning from the best,
And already has passed
Many very important tests.

But Four Little Monkeys
Though loved so thoroughly,
Just didn’t seem complete,
So just you wait and see,
A fifth little monkey
Is on approach next year.
July the ninth is our best guess,
So get ready for the cheers!

So Five Little Monkeys
May soon be jumping on the bed,
Or teasing Mr. Crocodile,
Or bumping their little heads.
But we are all excited,
As excited as can be,
To increase our love,

And expand our eternal family!

Christmas 2013

Christmas came bright and early!  Well, kind of.  They slept later than I thought they would, but then came bouncing on our bed begging us to get up!

Getting ready to go down to the tree...

Lined up and ready to go!

 Youngest is 1st!

 And now Ariana!

 And Ella!

 And Ethan!

Ariana couldn't wait to put on her new princess dress!

A new doll for Ariana!

And new scooters for Ethan, Ella, and Ariana...

And Ariana also got a new doll carrier with a doll!

Yup...this is me on Christmas Morning...

Yay!  a new leatherman for Charles!

And the biggest excitement of all for Ethan!  A Wii...he yelled pretty loud!

He also loved his "Tom and Jerry Movie"...

And all the kids loved Grandma Gough's present!  SLIPPERS!!!

And daddy game mommy a new ring!

Then we ate a huge breakfast, and the kids started watching their movies and playing with their toys and Mommy went up to take a nap...
but, this is what I found on my camera today, taken by non other than Ella... (and there were about 50 more!  These are the ones that made the most sense)

Merry Christmas everyone!  It was a fun and wonderful Christmas.  Let's not forget the reason for this time of year.  Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer!
