Frost Family Faces

I haven't missed a Veterans Day Parade in a very long time, and I wasn't going to miss one this year...although it was really sad not to go with Charity and mom as is tradition...I found out there was a parade in Taylorsville, found a couple of friends in my ward and they wanted to come so we all went...

Charles is now officially older than me! (again)

He specifically said he didn't want anything for his birthday, and since he had to work on his birthday anyway, I just decided to have an nice dinner and birthday ice cream for desert (I don't make cakes for Charles, they usually end up yucky becuase they have to be whole wheat and sugar free) so I got him some sugar free ice cream and stuck a candle on it...

I know I have birthday candles somewhere, but I can't remember where I put them after the move, so I got a tea light and that worked. The kids were excited anyway...

Ella is helping Daddy blow out the candle. As we were sitting eating our ice cream, Ethan kept asking when the party was going to come. He was waiting for more people to come to celebrate Daddy's birthday. Ella sang Happy Birthday to Daddy all day...


And I had to add this on...the first official snow (that stuck) of the season... (November 5th) When Ethan saw it was snowing the night before, he couldn't sleep for an hour! and was up bright and early the next morning to go out and play in it. Sadly, becuase he decided to get Ariana out of her bed (he had done it before and told to never do it again), and then let her crawl off his bed and she fell to the floor, (That was quite a wake up call for Charles and me) he had to clean out Daddy's car before he could play in the snow. He wasn't able to play in it until after about 4:00 becuase of all the things going on that day. (Funeral, hair cuts etc.)

She actually started officially crawling October 14-ish...but this is the first video I got of her....

Apparently, it was a record year warm Halloween, to which I am EXTREMELY grateful...but the next day, November 1st, Salt Lake showed its true colors and snowed...


I opened the window to show Ella and she started jumping up and down and yelling "Mom! It's snowing!!" and then insisted on going out in it..



I bought this coat 3 years ago at a Wal-Mart black Friday sale and thinking I would use them the next year, got them big (I got one for Ethan too). This is the first year they've fit...



Ella lasted all of 10 min, before saying she was cold, but she had fun for that 10 min (and it was 10 min. longer than I thought she'd be out, she's rather a wuss when it comes to the cold...)

Halloween...It was a lot of fun...the kids got TONS of candy...Beware! There's a lot of pictures.

We spread celebrations over the course of 4 days. After I got a note from Ethan's teacher at the beginning of the week telling us there will be no costumes worn in class, I was extremely disappointed but determined to make it a fun Halloween anyway...

So...Day 1 Friday... Cynthia and Travis invited us to their ward's trunk-or-treat...

Travis' costume was awesome! You should have seen some of the looks the little kids gave him, and the adults constantly took a "double Take" at him...

Day 2 - Saturday

Carving pumpkins...phase #1
Ethan had to do some homework with his pumpkin, including weighing, measuring and counting the seeds, so I got Ethan and Ella some very small pumpkins. We were running out of time on Saturday, but we had already told them they could carve pumpkins, so we did theirs on Saturday...

They got most of the seeds out themselves. There were 178 seeds in Ethan's pumpkin. It weighed 1 lb, 10 oz.

Trunk-or-treat #2
My friend Natalie invited us to her ward's trunk-or-treat on Saturday. However, I miss-judged the time and we got there an hour late, missed the candy part, but came in time for dinner.
There was a couple playing bluegrass tunes and Ella couldn't help but dance.




Day 3 - Sunday...we carved the "mommy and Daddy" Pumpkins. Mine is the A-typical happy pumpkin face, Charles', at Ethan's request, is a volcano...





And Day 4 - Monday...Halloween!


As per tradition we went to lunch at Arctic Circle (ok, usually its McDonalds, but I had some awesome coupons to Arctic Circle) I invited Mindy (Charles' sister) and Tangela, a neighbor, to come and play with us. Here was a perfect photo moment of the kids eating their ice cream.

Then we went to Charles' work. They were having Trick-or-treating, and all the departments had a theme and wore costumes. Here are the kids waiting to go up...

And Ella's costume #2...It didn't get done in time for the Trunk-or-treats, but I think that's a good thing, considering I had to wash her fairy costume after every trunk-or-treat... I didn't really want that dress around Chili and red jello either...

Then...Yay Me, I didn't get a single picture of the rest of the day...

We invited Cynthia and Travis, and Natalie and their kids over to make pizza, and then we went to Charles' parent's neighborhood to trick-or-treat. I really expected the kids to get tired after a block...nope!...they made it about 3 big blocks before the adults said "we're done!". We went back to Grandma Frost's house, and after some hot chocolate, put some very reluctant kids back in the car and went home.

So, here's to another awesome Halloween!

October 20 and 21 was Fall Break for us. I wasn't going to sit around and do nothing when I had that much time off, so I grabbed Travis and his two oldest and we headed down to St. George (Cynthia had a baby two weeks before, so she stayed home)
So, with five kids, and two adults packed into my van, we went to st. George for 5 fun filled days!
The kids did really well, except for the last hour when Max, who was sitting in the middle, didn't want anyone to touch him! (he was a little tired by then)

Ella is "doing" the dolls hair, and sitting in a cradle, couldn't pass up that photo opportunity...

The first day, (Thursday) was a busy day... My mom made bread for lunch (Yummy!) then we went to Costco with my mom, and all 5 kids (so Travis could get a well earned nap) then home for dinner, then I ran over to the old neighborhood to say hi to some friends and drop off some toys that accidentally got put in the back of our moving fan, and pick up some toys that got left there (sorry to some friends I never got to see) then ran over to Pine View High, and surprised (literally) my friend Jenny during her lecture to her students for Fiddler on the Roof (she was trying to tell them they needed to be more excited and happy on stage...perfect timing on my part) then to the last home game for Snow Canyon High volleyball...
Whew! It was a busy first day...

The second day was even more busy! We went to the park for lunch...

The shade was perfect, so we got out umbrellas and made our own shade...

This is Ella at her "Ice cream stand". She kept yelling for the other kids to come and get their ice cream!

Elora made a little bed in the wood chips...they all played really well together, but I don't remember what they were playing... (Emma and Mya are in there too...in the green shirts)

Then...becuase mom's being saving up her stale, old, yucky bread, we went to feed the ducks...




I thought Ella was going to fall in a a couple of times, she got so close!

Then, we went to the Snow Canyon Football game...the last of the season...against Pine View (my brother, Dustin, coaches the team...)

Sadly, Snow Canyon lost, but only by one touchdown, and considering how far behind they were, it was a great comeback!

Then, Saturday morning...
Grandpa made pancakes!

And Elora loved sitting in the chair with Ariana...

Then, Mom and I tied a quilt and then got ready for Derek's birthday!


Everyone came over to have pizza and celebrate Derek's birthday. We got to bed very late that night.

Sunday, we went to church, then left to come home.
It took me a couple of days to get over this vacation, but we sure had fun!
