We went to get certified at WIC Tuesday. It was Ethan's regular certification, and Ella's follow-up. When we went three months ago for Ella's certification, they found that she hadn't been gaining enough weight. I wasn't surprised becuase at that point she refused to eat solids and only wanted to nurse. They wanted to re-certify her again in three months. Well, soon after that appointment, she turned 1 year so we started her one whole milk and I stopped nursing her except for morning and night. As soon as she realized she wasn't getting "mommy" anymore, and that she liked whole milk, she also started chowing down on solids. She'll eat pretty much anything now, and a pretty good amount of it too. I thought for sure that at this appointment she would have gained weight. (FYI, she's been hovering around 20 pounds since she was about 6 mos. old) So, when the nurse weighed her, I thought for sure she'd be up a couple of pounds. Guess again! She's only gained 3 oz in 3 months! So...we'll be re-certifying...again... in another three months. They aren't exremely concerned though becuase she's also grown two inches. So percentile with height and weight...41st percentile. She's perfectly healthy...just small. (I know, go figure with my family heritage)
Ethan on the other hand is my big 'ol 34 pound boy. He's in the 40th percentile for height and weight and is 39 inches tall. He's gained 3 pounds since he was last certified which was 6 months ago. Luckily, my joggin stroller has a max of 50 lbs per side, so I'm good for a while!
PS.
Pictures will hopefully be coming soon. The card reader for the hardrive died, and we've lost the USB cable, so I really don't know how to get pictures on the computer, and Charles is too swamped to make this a high priority, so...hopefully soon, we'll get some pics on.
