A Weekend of Celebrating and Family!

The weekend of the 16th was a big weekend for Gough Family Fun! On Friday the 15th, Chad went through the Temple to recieve his endowments. My Brother and Sister-in-law, who live in Salt Lake, came down for it, with their two kids. Naturally, we had to have dinner after, so we met at my mom's house and had a barbecue and hotdog roast. Ethan loved it! He loves fire.

The Uncles got the idea to pull the kids around the yard on a blanket. Of course they loved it! We finally had them lay down on their tummy's so they wouldn't fall off as easy. Ethan is on the back of the blanket in the striped shirt.

Now it's Ella's turn, she's in the middle in the purple. They pulled them around for quite a while. Chad and Dan definitely got a good work out!!

Ethan and Ella loooooove Fire!

Just Chillin' after a good meal

Then, on Sunday the 17th, it was Chad's 19th birthday. We all met at my mom's again, this time for a Dutch oven dinner. Yuuummmmmy!
After dinner, my brothers started this game called Ninja strike...and they played it until it got too dark to see. I still haven't quite figured out the game, but it was sure funny to watch them, expecially when some of the little kids got into it.

My Dad started playing the last couple of games. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard!

Giving birthday spankings to Chad! Dad is on the bottom and almost didn't survive the ordeal. Notice his bright red coloring

Recovery after the birthday spankings

I've never seen Chad so excited about a cake. Pure delight!

It's a Rugby Ball Cake!

Blow out the Candles!!

Cynthia figured out how to do...it turned out really well.
We had a very fun weekend celebrating and spending time with family! It's great to be so close to family to be able to spend lots of time with them!

Swimming pools and Curls

Random title for a some random pictures.

My brother and sister-in-law and their two kids came down to run in the Swiss Days 5K the last weekend of September. While we were all over at my mom's house, Max and Ethan wanted to go swimming. We set up the pool under the slide, then put the hose on the slide. They had a ball! Ever since Ethan started going to Pre-school, he never wants to play by himself, so when someone plays with him he has 10 times more fun. They played outside for a couple of hours! Elora joined them for a little while, but the boys held out a lot longer!

Two cute boys...Max and Ethan!

Now for the "Curls" part...

I was at my mom's house talking to my sisters-in-law and the subject came up about curlers. I've always wondered if Ella's hair would hold a curl, but never tried it. Then my mom reminded us of a couple of girls camps ago that was pioneer themed and some of the wards tied up their hair in rags to make it curl, like the pioneers did. So, with the help of Kylie, and Charity, Jan and I tied up Jaci and Ella's hair in rags to see if it would curl.
As you'll see in the pictures, it did! I didn't get any pictures of Jaci's final product, but according to Jan, they were really tight curls and it turned into an afro! Jaci cried when she saw it and said "I no like! I no like!" Ella on the other hand produced some really pretty and cute curls. I've got big ideas with this now, but I think I'll go get some actual curlers, they will be easier to put in!

The back shot.

The next morning when I took them out...

Look how tight they are! The pioneers knew what they were doing!

The final product. Oodles of Curls!

Beautiful curls, and they stayed in like that all day, even after her nap! They only came out when Ethan sprayed her with the hose later that afternoon.

And this shot...she is actually in big trouble, and she knows it! She got into her cousin's room, got his highlighter, and colored not only all over herself (hands, arms and legs as well as face) but colored all over Gavin's dresser too! Right before this, and right after this, her face was very much in "sad mode" but she smiled just for this picture. She even used the highlighter it as 'lipstick'!

A Plethora of Parades

The month of September is the start of the Parade season in St. George. It's waaaaay too hot to do it in the summer, so September and later is the ideal time. The pictures will tell all the fun we had at the parades ...The Rodeo Parade (it was actually the kids parade) the Swiss Days parade and the Dixie College Homecoming parade, that Chad was actually able to participate in.

Here we are waiting for the parade to start. We got a good spot in the shade. The kids had a ball running out to get the candy. My brother and nephews were in the parade. Dan was driving the truck for a dance company his neighbor owns, and the nephews rode on top.

Gavin (in the red shorts) is holding the sign for announcing what's to come!

My nephews are on the top of the truck, and Dan is driving. The little blond head in the passenger side is my niece Jaci.

These next ones are of the Swiss Days Parade. This was a really fun one becuase it's not extremely long, and there was a lot of candy thrown. Travis and Cynthia came down to run in the 5k. (will be recycled for Halloween!)

Here is Ella watching the parade from her stroller. She was in and out of it most of the time.

Tuacahn had a couple of floats in the parade too. This is one of Tarzan. I'm so excited to see the show!!

And Dan and the boys were in this one again for the same dance company. All the boys that ARE waving, are my nephews. I have no idea who the other one is.

And Nick is holding onto the side, and Brandon is behind him.

And here's Dan driving the truck again. He's holding Jaci.

This is at the Dixie College Homecoming Parade. Chad was in it so we had a good excuse to go. Here are a few of the grandkids waiting for the parade to start

Ethan does not like loud noises. He would put his hands over his ears as soon as he sees the band!

Here's Chad in the Rugby Club section of the parade.

Now for the Washington City Veterans Day Parade! This was a lot of fun because it was very small and there were a lot of Elementary kids that got involved. It was so cute seeing them walk down the street waving flags and banners they had made themselves.
My mom and I met up with Charity and her girls. We were able to park right next to the parade route so we didn't have to walk! It was lots of fun, and of course the kids got lots of candy!

Here we are watching the parade!

Ethan had his feet crossed right before I snapped the picture. It's still a cute picture, and he looks so pensive...

Mya is holding all her candy! I don't think she let it go until she got home.

and Charity and Emma!

Lots of fun! We love parades. The kids especially love parades because of all the candy!

Chad's Mission Call!

The Official White Envelop!!

Chad got his mission call on Wednesday the 15th! It's so exciting to have the last brother get his call! He had a very good support system come in the way of friends. Enjoy the pictures. I wish I could have put the video on, but the file was too big. If you want to see it, it's on Facebook.

Getting ready to open!

There were more, but I couldn't get them all in the picture

Yeah! Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Mission! (He really is excited...I promise)

And other pictures...

Desitin DOES NOT wipe of easily, as the package said. I guess it could be worse. She has a couple of cousins that eat it.

And here is the official 20 week, half-way point picture of my prego belly. I'm bigger than I was with the last two. Oh, and my ligaments are killing me! Oh, and even better, this baby is waaaaay more active than the first two!

Lane Reunion 2010

We had the annual Lane Reunion over Labor Day weekend. (Charles' mom's side) It was very enjoyable, if a little crowded with aprox. 50 people all sharing a cabin and two bathrooms. But, still very fun. Here are a few pictures of the fun the kids had! (well, Charles and I had fun too, we just didn't have any pictures of us)

The kids had a bunch of activities planned for them on Saturday, among them a treasure hunt, games and face painting! I think I figured out what Ella will be for Halloween!

Gotta love the love!

Ella has been sleeping with her doll over her face lately. We didn't have the space to bring up a pack 'n play, so we got an extra air mattress for Ella to sleep on and she actually did really well on it. (Possible hope for the future!?)

There are always ATV's at the cabin. Ella climbed onto Uncle Leo's and I couldn't resist taking a picture, then Uncle Leo took Ella and Ethan on a ride. They loved it!

This is how Ethan and Ella spent most of their time up there, playing in the dirt, the rocks and with sticks, and really anything else they could find that would get them dirty!

See...a stick! Ethan's in heaven!

My cute kids on Uncle Leo's ATV. So cute!
