Funny Story

So, I was cooking dinner yesterday, and Ethan was playing in the backyard. He comes running in to the kitchen, opens the silverware drawer and grabs a handful of forks and knives then runs back out. I yelled after him that he needed to bring them back, but thinking he was playing with them in a bedroom I didn't think anything of it until a few minutes later he runs back in and grabs for some spoons. I tell him he can't have any spoons until he brings back the forks. He comes back a few minutes later, no forks, and tries to get some spoons again. I tell him the same thing. About a half hour later, I decide to go hunt down the forks. I look in all the rooms, bathrooms, under beds, in closets etc. to no avail. Go back and continue with dinner. About a half hour after that, I'm really confused, and ask Ethan to show me where the forks are. He leads me to the backyard, (of which I've already looked) and straight to the fence and looks up. I look over the fence and voila, there they are. He threw the forks, knives as well as a lid that goes to my bread crumbs over the fence and into the big (empty) gulch on the other side. What possessed him to do so I have no idea. So...I had Charles jump the fence and get them for me when he got home.

So, this is a random video, and I think It's a total of three seconds long, but when I see it, I melt...I hope you do too. She has such a cute smile. And yes, as you can see, no teeth. 9 1/2 mos old and still no teeth!

Ethan has been playing this game with Ella recently. He puts his blanket over her head and sits across from her. They sit there like that and Ethan just giggles until Ella pulls the blanket off or falls over. Whatever comes first. It's really cute.

For those who don't know, yesterday was our 4th Anniversary.
I can't believe it's only been 4 years. I can't really remember a time I didn't have Charles in my life. He is such a wonderful man and takes such good care of us. He is so selfless and has such a strong testimony of...everything! He loves the church with his whole heart and soul, and loves to serve others. He loves me and treats me like a queen, and you can tell he loves our children so much. I think my favorite is when he plays with the kids. They just adore him.
Happy Anniversary Charles. I love you!

Silly Ella

I walked out of my bathroom yesterday morning and this is how I found Ella. I have no idea how she got it on, but it was kind of hard to get off. She didn't seem to mind having it on though. She thought it was great.
What a funny kid!

My brother, Dallas, got home from his mission yesterday!!! What a fun experience. I love homecomings. He served in the Anahiem, California Spanish speaking mission. He loved it! (of course) Here are some pictures of his homecoming. We acutally missed him getting off the plane. It came in early, but it was still a wonderful experience. All morning, I was telling Ethan that we were going to go see Dallas, and airplanes and Grandma. When we got to the airport, he wouldn't have a thing to do with Dallas. He was more excited to see his cousins. Considering he was 10 months when Dallas left, that's not surprising.
(Sorry some of the pictures are bad. Ethan likes touching the lense and I didn't realize until it was too late)

Here is Ethan giving Dallas the welcome home sign we made for FHE Monday.

That's as close as he got to him all day.

These are a bunch of his friends that came and saw him. GROUP HUG!!

Notice the good lookin' sign. :)

Everyone but Travis and Cynthia and Dustin was there. Dustin had a soccer game up in Salt Lake, and Travis and Cynthia live in Ogden, a little too far to come for a few hours.

I couldn't resist a little picture of Ella. This is waiting for Dallas to come home so we could have dinner!

Dallas is still reeling! He feels like he just got home from a vacation or something.

After he was officially released, Dallas and Chad had a smack down. Chad started wrestling this year, and has wanted to wrestle Dallas since he started. They couldn't pin each other, which I think is pretty good on both ends. Dallas was sure sore though. They didn't do it nice and gentle, both of them were sweating by the end. Everyone in the front room feared for their lives.

It sure is fun having him home. We sure missed him. Now, 6 down, 1 to go!

Valentines Day

I know it's a few weeks late, but it took me a while to get the picture off my mom's camera. I wanted to take our camera with us so I could take lots of pictures, but the battery wasn't charged.
I consider this the best Valentines Day ever!! Charles and I had the opportunity to go the a formal dinner and dance put on every year by the Black Family Foundation called "Unforgettable". It was black tie all the way, and we rose to the occasion. We got Charles a tux, and I was actually able to fit into some of my formals from high school! (WAHOO!!!) The dinner was at the Marriot Ballroom. It was formal (three forks per person) the food was awesome and the ballroom was beautifully decorated. There was dancing and Jordan Bluth was the entertainment. (If you don't know who he is, he could give Josh Groban a run for his money) It was incredibly romantic and so wonderful. We pretty much danced the night away. It was really nice to be able to go out just the two of us, on an acutal date, and it sure beat dinner and a movie. I recommend it to anyone! It is put on every year as a fundraser and all the proceeds to the a charity, this year it was Dixie Care and Share. I sure have a wonderful mommy who took care of the kids for us!

Food for Thought

I Love reading. I consider it my "out". (my other two are walking and Lieto!) I go to completely different worlds that are new and fantastic and it's a nice change. I know I have a good book when I can't wait for the next one to come out. Ahhh...a love hate relationship there...series books. You get hooked on the first one then wait a couple of YEARS for the next one to come out. I try to not start series until all of them are out, but so far, it's only worked with a few (i.e. Testaments, Work and the Glory,. Twilight series, I read those in a couple of weeks, you should have seen my house when I finished...no wait, you shouldn't) Harry Potter is a case in point. Another case in point is the above book, acutally the 3rd in a 4 part series (when I started the series, I though it was only three) The first book is called "Eragon", then "Eldest" now this. Eragon was written by a 15 year old. Yeah, I had my doubts too, but look where it got me, anxiously awaiting yet another book in a series, and who knows how long the wait will be this time!! So, is my "out" really and "out" if I get so frusterated at my "outs"? Hmmm... food for thought.
