Frost Family Faces

This was the best race of all!  Nick had a race right in our city, in Eagle Mountain.  I was so excited to find out that it was so close!  First I didn't have to drive farther than 10 min. to go to a family function, and 2nd I had a house full of family, for a full weekend, which I LOVE!  Dan and Jan came up early Friday morning and got here about 11:00.  They brought all their bikes so they were able to ride in our "backyard" (the desert behind us).  They even went with me to pick up Ariana from preschool.  We set up tents in the back yard.  It was the beginning of October so it was a little chilly at night, but not anything different than camping in the mountains.  We just hung out on Friday, Mom, Dad and Gavin got there Friday evening.  I made a huge pasta dinner for everyone and we played and rode bikes and had a blast.
Jan and Dan and their family went up to the racing area pretty early.  We met them up there about 1:00.  I couldn't believe an area big enough to host this kind of race existed in this area.  It was amazing!  It was a huge valley with mountains and hills all around it.  The race track circled the valley so you could see racers at every angle.  Even on the information flyers it said to not wander off paths, and to watch your kids because rattlesnakes were common in the area.
This is the start of the race right before Nick's race.  It is pretty fast and furious.

 Such a great race!  Nick did awesome!  He fell at one point which slowed him a few seconds but he did amazing even thought that happened!


 Alayna found dirt.  She also found that she like it...a lot...and loved playing in it!


 We kept having to pull dirt out of her mouth.  But she had a ball...as you can see...
We went back to out house after the race and had sandwiches for dinner.


All packed up and ready to go.  Dan managed to get a big screen TV in with all the bikes and gear.  They left early Sunday morning.  Mom and Dad left late Saturday night.  It's always sad to see my family go.  I've already booked my house for them next October!  And I already can't wait!
